Biographical information:
Since school, I've been...
Have lived in California, Michigan, Indiana, Tenn. and moved to Greensboro, NC in 1974. Worked in the graphics and printing industry for over 20 years. I have just published my first cookbook. the name of it is "OPA" - a wonderful collection of inspired Greek and authentic Greek Cuisine. I will post our new website when it's complete. For now, I hope you will view the following webpage. I think you'll like what you see. Thanks! www.myspace.com/greekcooking
My family:
I have five children: David, Melanie, Anna, Todd & Chris. They're all married and have great careers, great spouses and wonderful children. I have10 grandchildren. I remarried in 1980. Ed has 3 children of his own, 8 grandchildren..and most of them come over for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We also have 4 great grandchildren. (Michael is Ed's grandson, but I claim him as my own!)
Life experiences:
I could write a book on my life! But I would venture to say my greatest life experiences would be my husband,Ed, my children and 10 grandchildren! Doesn't get any better than that!
My favorite things in school:
I loved my part time job that I had from the 9th grade until I graduated from Central.
My favorite things now:
Top of the list? Our two Yorkshire Terriers: Nicholas and Katie. I love to cook and decorate our home. Actually,I have just published my cookbook. The name of it is 'OPA COOKBOOK. I opted not to go through a publishing company and we've surprised ourselves as it is selling quite well! My daughter-in-law has her own ad agency and is a graphics designer so she created anddesigned the book and cooridinated the photography. My son, Todd is in marketing and with a printing company so his company printed our book and Todd is over PR & marketing. We've had quite a few booksignings, the Acropolis Restaurant in GreensborNC I'll be going to St. Augustine, FL in June for the Greek Landing Day Festival for a booksigning at the St. Photios Greek Orthodox Historical Museum. I've also been booked by a local restaurant here to hold cooking classes. So, it looks like retirement does not exist in my vocabulary and I'm loving every minute of it! Guess things are going well in this department for me...especially, since I flunked Home Economics in high school with my teacher telling me that I would never learn how to cook!!! I'm also writing ,for my children and grandchildren,a book about my Greek heritage, where my parents came from in Greece, about how I grew up.Things that I am hoping they will read and pass on to their children, so they won't forget their background and heritage. Something that I wish I had. Life just doesn't, and shouldn't stop, ever. You just keep finding more wonderful things to do that are challenging and rewarding...
My favorite books, movies and music:
I love mystery novels, biographies. Actually all books. Classical music and jazz. Ed and I both love going to the movies and really don't have a favorite . Our favorite is whatever movie we've enjoyed going to at that time!
I work at:
