Since school, I've been...
So many years and so many things i wont bore you with all the details but my husband was transferred to the Atlanta area where we lived for some 30 years when i moved to W. Palm Beach for another 19 years and then to Richmond, VA in 2001 where my eldest son lives. Just 42 miles from Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown so with all the history around here it is an interesting area to live in. |
My family:
Bob White, class of 39 and i were married after WWII in June 1949. In 1952 our first son was born in Charlotte and in 1955 our younger son was born in Atlanta. Bob passed away in May 2000. I have 2 granddaughters and one great grandson great arent they? |
Life experiences:
Too many but trips abroad were highlights. One was to visit Don in Spain with navy intelligence so we purchased Eurail passes and spent two weeks after we left him exploring Monaco Milan,Italy Lucerne, Switzerland Munich and Heidelberg, Germany. What an adventure traveling alone the first time out of the USA. |
My favorite things in school:
Acappela Choir was the highlight of my high school. Mr. Lonnie Sides was the greatest. We did the Messiah every Christmas with the Charlotte Chorale and we put on the "HMS PENTIFORE" quite an adventure for us. High school was a lot of fun in those days. I hope it still is. |
My favorite things now:
Genealogy is my favorite endeavor now. Not only do your ancestors come alive but you learn more history than in any classroom ever could offer. I have found wonderful friends in DAR as well as in other civic organizations. |
My favorite books, movies and music:
To me Gone With the Wind will never be equaled. But so many great ones used to be presented. I dont go for all the high tech movies of today. I love the American classics (big band) and semiclassics most of all. I was an avid book worm until my eyes made me slow down but i am a computer addict now. I have email pals all across this nation now. |
